OS: Sabki Baraatein Aayi

Sabki baraatein aayi, doli tu bhi laana
Dulhan banake humko Rajaji le jaana

Khushi's eyes fell on the poster on her wall, where she had pasted over Salman Khanji's face with Arnavji's. Her lips curled up into an uncharacteristic sneer as she noted the irony of Arnav carrying her in a palanquin.

Chaaha tha maine, socha tha maine
Kya kya the armaan dil nadaan ke

In a moment of anger she leaped off the bed and ripped down the photo of Arnav. It didn't come easily and tore half of the poster alongside it. All that remained on the wall was Khushi, alone in a palanquin with her groom torn away from her.

Aankhon mein aansoon aaye
Aankhon mein aansoon aaye par koi na aaya

Khushi stumbled backwards, the poster falling from her hands as her knees buckled and she collapsed on the floor next to her bed. This was her reality now.

Her Amma with the scandal of a relationship with a married man, she know knew had been forced to settle and marry a much older widower in need of a mother for his young daughter.

In aankhon mein thi, ek raat saji
Haathon mein kabhi, choodi si baji
Par aankh khuli to aaya nazar, na raat saji na choodi baji

But Khushi, with three scandals behind her now; a broken engagement, and two failed attempts at marriage would have to accept the possibility that this was to be her last wedding day. She would never have another.

Mera toota tha dil, uski jhankar thi
Saara voh rang tha mere khoone dil ka

Her shoulders shook as she sobbed into her henna-stained hands. The initial on her hand would fade eventually and Khushi could only pray the name engraved on her heart would do the same.
