OS: Turn the Other Cheek

Khushi brought her hand up to her mouth to try and stifle her laugh again at the sight of the usually formidable Arnav Singh Raizada with his cheek covered in haldi.

'If I was in your place, I wouldn't laugh so much Khushi Kumari Gupta.'

The slightly mocking yet threatening tone caused her giggles to cease instantly as he took a step closer to her.

'Especially when you don't have the courage to accept challenges. You do remember the challenge don't you?'

Khushi's breathing hitched as her earlier anxiety at seeing him returned. He took another step closer and moved his head towards her left cheek this time.

'Last night when I...'

She felt both excitement and fear running through her as she braced herself, not completely unwillingly for a repeat of the previous night's events. However, instead of the velvety feel of his lips against her cheek warming her heart she felt as if she was going up in flames when he rubbed his rough stubble worn cheek against hers.

He moved his head back and smirked, while Khushi stood frozen unable to think or even move. 'You're not laughing now, are you?'

'Khushiji! Oh Khushiji!'

He turned his head to look over his shoulder and Khushi saw NK approaching them with a camera in his hand. Hey Devi Maiyya! Had he seen? Arnav moved past her but she could tell he was still there, now standing behind her.

'Arre wah, the bride's sister and the groom's brother, both of you together.' He moved his camera from her to Arnav, slightly confused, 'there's haldi here and haldi there.'

Khushi's hand instantly went to her cheek and then she looked at her fingers now stained with the same haldi that was obviously on her cheek.

'What's up Khushiji? Did you have a competition in your house as well like we did here? Tell me who won?'

Khushi didn't think it would be possible to blush anymore until she felt Arnav move his head slightly closer to hers from behind and speak in a low tone, 'go on Khushi, tell him who won.'

'Err... this is for Akash,' she held the bag out to him and turned to go.

'No, no, Khushiji, You can't leave. Come inside, I want to get you on video as well. And you have to clean your cheek. I'll help you.'

Khushi shook her head and refused turning to leave again when she caught a glimpse of Arnav's stony glare fixed on NK, his irritation clearly visible.  She almost smiled before she controlled herself and turned back around. 'You know Nanheji, you're right. I should come in and clean this. Come on, let's go.'

She looked over her shoulder one last time and gave him a defiant look before she continued to walk with NK.
