Day 20

Arnav looked around the hall once again to make sure he hadn't missed her then took out his phone to ring her. Even before the phone had rung he ended the call, he wanted to surprise her not alert her to his presence in advance. He twirled his phone in his hand as he tried to figure out where she could be. There were only two options really. He quickly dialled another number. 'Di?'

'Chote is something wrong?'

Arnav rolled his eyes at her automatically worried tone, 'no no Di, I just wanted to know are you with Payal yet?'

'Yes we just got to the room, she's almost ready. Is Akash getting impatient?'

'Di, is Khushi there?'

'Oho! I see, so it's not Akash getting impatient but you.'

'Di,' he didn't need to say anything beyond that, knowing it would convey his meaning effectively.

'Sorry sorry, no your wife isn't here right now. Do you want me to find out where she is?'

'No need Di, I know where she'll be,' he said putting the phone down with a grin before accosting a waiter to receive directions to the kitchen.

---

'Missed me?'

She'd gasped and dropped the samosa she'd been eating when she felt his arms slide around her waist but relaxed as soon as she recognised her husband's woody fragrance and husky voice. Khushi turned around slowly, pouting even as she allowed Arnav to almost drag her to a darkened alcove away from the servers preparing the food and take her lips in an intense kiss.

Arnav pulled back slightly noting her reticence, 'what's wrong?'

'Sarita still hasn't learned her moves! She keeps getting them wrong Arnav and now she says she won't dance because she's embarrassed!'

Arnav tightened his hold around her waist, 'so? You're doing a dance with Priya and another one on your own right? Isn't that enough?'

'Enough? Enough? Arnav this is my sister's sangeet and you think two measly dances are enough? I'm her only sister! What will people think? That I don't love her?'

Arnav looked at her as if she was speaking in a foreign language 'how did you get from two dances to people saying you don't love Payal?'

She didn't answer, chewing at her bottom lip instead since she no longer had any samosas to eat. Arnav took the opportunity to lower his head to her neck and place small kisses along her shoulder.

'Idea!'

The sudden jerk of her shoulders as she jumped in excitement made him bite his tongue and he clasped a hand over his mouth while shooting daggers at her.

'What's wrong with you? Anyway, I know what we can do! You can dance with me Arnav!'

'Whath? I'm not danthing with you.'

'Arnav? When did you get a lisp?'

'Khuthi, I am not danthing okay?'

'Please? Please, please please Arnav?'

'Okay, fine!.'

'Really? Thank you! Now why are you talking like that?'

'You made me bite my tongue.'

'Oh no! Let me see,' she moved her head left and right as if she'd be able to see the damage inflicted. Then she smirked and put her arms around his neck leaning forward. 'Shall I kiss it better?'

Arnav put both of his arms around her again and pulled her closer towards him, 'yeth please.'

---

Dancing with Arnav was always a sensuous experience for her but all of her emotions seemed heightened tonight. The intensity of the spotlight and Arnav's burning gaze had beads of sweat running down her neck within moments.

He didn't seem at all fazed by anything, not the lights, not the audience, not their proximity. His hands were everywhere all at once, her stomach, her waist, her arms, her back, her face, and even the top of her thighs as he lifted her, anchoring her against his solid frame. By the end of the dance, Khushi felt as if she would melt into a puddle at his feet if he hadn't been holding her up. The audience's applause paled in comparison to the sound of her blood rushing around her body in a frenzy.

Arnav led his dazed wife away from the stage into the makeshift green room and deposited her on top of the dresser, 'aren't you going to thank me Khushi?'

'Th... thank you?'

Arnav reached behind her and gathered her loose hair up, pinning it to the top of her head with a clip, his breath fanning her neck as he spoke. 'Aren't you going to thank me for dancing with you?'

'Oh... yes, thank you Arnav,' Khushi said almost out of breath as he trailed his fingers across her back, resting them on top of the small silver clasp that was holding her blouse together.

'Is there anything else you want from me Khushi? You know I'm always ready to fulfil your wishes. Anything you want Khushi. Just ask.'

Khushi's eyes shot open at his gleeful tone and she pushed herself back on the dresser away from him and looked at him with accusing eyes. 'No thank you. I'm perfectly fine,' she said trying to maintain a semblance of dignity which she suspected she had completely left behind on the dance floor.

Arnav bit his lip to control his smirk turning into a full-fledged grin, 'are you sure?'

'Absolutely! 100%!'

'Okay then, I guess, I should leave you to change.' He leaned forward and kissed her cheek before whispering in her ear, 'don't take too long, I'm waiting.'

---

'So I won't get to see you at all tomorrow?'

'Arnav, it's the mehndi tomorrow. You know there's no men allowed.'

'But it's different now, we're married! It's not like it's our mehndi. Can't I come and see you for a bit in the morning then? Or after the mehndi's finished?'

'No. That's final Arnav and make sure you send Di with the driver and don't make some excuse to drop her off yourself. Good night!'

'Fine. As you wish. Goodnight!' Arnav ended the call with a scowl and shoved the phone under his pillow.

'Kaika goodnight? What's so good about the night yaar? Akele, akele, it's a lonely night.'

  3. Three words: Best Fanfiction Ever.
By the way what do you guys think about the plot in the actual serial. I mean it's really cute and stuff, but what the hell?? Khushi decides to totally forget that Arnav forced her to marry him, and refuses to tell her why!! In an episode before the holi one, Khushi starts to think maybe Arnav found out about Shyam, but now she totally forgot about it. I was so happy thinking hat maybe things will get better now but no. I don't live in India but honestly it cannot be that hard to get 300 rupees. I mean does she seriously have to go thorough all the trouble to start a business. And honestly if she had enough money to buy all the food, a Bluetooth and print out business cards then I'm guessing she probably had 300 rupees. And another point if the producers really wanted this whole plost if angsty love and how Arnav's anger and minunderstandings ruined Khushi's life then why are they makin the show all happy and funny???
Don't get me wrong I love love love the show and won't stop watching it but I really needed to vent. Once again love the story and update soon!!!!
