OS: Misguided Feelings

She ran her finger lightly over her sleeping husband's forehead, running it down his sharp distinguished nose and down onto the bow of the his full and soft lips. She traced the contours of his lips which had been on top of her own not long ago, a soft smile playing on her lips as she remembered his loving words and soothing caresses.

Sometimes he made her so angry; when he worked late, when he refused to listen or when he snapped at her in irritation but then he'd look at her and she'd feel like she was drowning. His eyes, as dark and deep as his love for her, would capture her, render her immoveable. Then he'd draw her close, his hands on her skin, heating her up from within and then those beautiful lips that she loved so much would move and the soft timbre of his voice would bounce in her ears, reverberate through her body and bewitch her until all her anger ebbed and flowed away leaving only love and devotion.

He watched her sleep, peaceful and serene like an angel. Her long lashes fanned onto her porcelain cheeks which were devoid of the rose blush that almost always tinged her cheeks in his presence. Her exquisite lips, still pink and enticing even while she slept curved up into the smallest smile as she dreamt of something he couldn't comprehend.

There were times when he looked at her and he forgot. He forgot the world and he forgot himself. All that existed was her. She would laugh and blush and her beautifully expressive eyes would open wide and invite him in. He'd touch her, his rough hands running over her soft and tender skin. He wanted to worship her, revere her and pleasure her. Then he'd see her eyes again, startled and confused as she stepped away and he'd remember. Reality came crashing back, shocking him awake and reminding him of everything he'd forgotten when her eyes had locked with his.
