Completely random thought that popped into my head. Let's pretend Arnav didn't plan to confess and he never sees Shyam and Khushi together.

OS: What's Mine is Yours

Khushi stood at his doorway, the door had been open and she watched him for a few brief seconds. He was hunched over his laptop, his forehead creased in concentration and his fingers flying over the keyboard. She cleared her throat and he looked up and acknowledged her with a nod. ‘Arnavji, Na... I mean Dadiji’s calling you downstairs.’

Arnav looked up from his laptop sharply, ‘what did you say?’

The gritted teeth and his menacing tone instantly had Khushi’s nerves on high alert. He must be angry about something, although she couldn’t think of anything she’d done to merit it. ‘Y... you have to come downstairs.’

He stood up and walked towards her, ‘who did you say called me?’

Khushi walked backwards with every step he took forwards until her back collided with the wall of the corridor, ‘Da... Da... Dadiji.’

He stopped less than a foot away from her, his eyes narrowed and he continued to look down at her silently.

‘Erm... everybody... I mean Jiji and Amma and Buaji all call her Da... Dadiji and Buaji s... said now that Jiji’s married I sh... should...’

Arnav leaned closer to her until their noses were mere fractions apart and held onto her arm. ‘She is and always will be Nani to you. You got that?’

Khushi nodded shakily as he let go of her, his lips pursed together in a scowl as he walked down the corridor to the stairs.
