FF: 30 Days - Day 2

Day 2


Khushi woke up in the position that she liked best. Arnav's arms were holding her tightly against his body and she had one leg flung over his. She lifted her head slightly to kiss Arnav before she remembered their argument last night.


Had she really told him he couldn't touch her for a month? The idea was ridiculous but Khushi was sure Arnav would give in and apologise long before the month was over so she didn't worry too much but she definitely wasn't going to be the one that gave in. She stroked his jaw lightly before extricating herself from Arnav's arms careful not to wake him.


The sound of an unfamiliar ringing woke Arnav up and he blinked his eyes trying to identify the noise. It was coming from his phone although he was sure he hadn't set an alarm. He turned off the alarm before he looked next to him at the empty space where his wife should have been. The only days he ever used an alarm to wake up were when Khushi stayed at her parents; otherwise normally she kissed him awake every day before she went down for pooja.


Arnav groaned as he sat up remembering last night. Was she really going to go through with this ridiculous 'punishment'? He would show her he decided. Arnav Singh Raizada never lost and he wouldn't lose in this either.


Arnav watched Khushi for any signs of wavering during breakfast but she made sure not to touch his hand at all while she served him which irritated him. As soon as he was done, Arnav picked up his bag and left making sure not to look at Khushi although he could feel her eyes on him.


'Khushi? Why has Chote left without kissing you? Did you have a fight?'


Khushi looked from Arnav's retreating back to Anjali, 'no Di, of course not. He... I think he's just busy and he forgot.'


'He never forgets Bhabi! Are you sure this isn't because of yesterday?' Akash raised his eyebrows up and down at Khushi with a grin.


Khushi blushed at the mention of yesterday's events


'Don't worry dear, I'll tell everyone not to tease you anymore okay?'


Khushi nodded weakly at Nani as she avoided Anjali and Akash's teasing looks. How could he have just left without kissing her? He always kissed her! Oh that man! He drove her crazy!


Arnav minimised the document on his laptop and signalled the peon to get his food ready as he took his phone out of his pocket and waited for it to ring.


It rang exactly on time and Arnav smiled automatically as he answered it. 'So, I see we're still allowed to talk then at least?'


'Arnav!'


Arnav grinned at the irritation in her voice. Obviously that missed kiss had had the desired effect. 'What?'


'You...I... Why didn't you kiss me? Naniji thinks we're in a fight because of yesterday.' Khushi sulked into the phone.


'But we are aren't we? Isn't that why you didn't wake me up this morning?'


'Well... yes but I don't want everyone to know!'


'Khushi, either you want me to kiss you or not. I can't help it if everyone knows or not.'


Khushi stuck her tongue out at him although she knew he couldn't see, 'okay fine leave it. Have you eaten?'


Arnav rolled his eyes 'yes, yes I'm just eating now.'


'And you remembered to take your medicine before?'


'You know Khushi, you ask me this every day.'


'Well you have to take your medicine every day so of course I ask you every day.'


'Well I'm almost done eating now, so you can get off the phone.'


'Oh I see how it is. Now that you won't be getting anything from me you don't even want to talk to me?'


'Yes of course Khushi. I only ever want one thing from you,' Arnav said sarcastically as he opened his laptop again. 'No really, I've got a lot of work and I've eaten now so will you go and eat as well please?'


'Okay I'm going, I love you'


'Love you too. Oh and Khushi...'


'What?'


Arnav blew a kiss into the phone before he ended the call with a smirk on his face.


Khushi gasped in shock at the phone. 'Oh he thinks he's so clever,' she said to herself as she left their bedroom to go down and eat. 'I'll show him.'
