Day 4

Arnav woke up to the sound of an alarm again, irritating him before he'd even opened his eyes. He was finding it hard to believe that he hadn't kissed Khushi in three days. No, she hadn't kissed him. He was more than willing to kiss her but she was being stupid and fixating on something that didn't even matter. Who cared if the family saw them kissing? If the whole world saw them kissing? She was his wife; he had a right to kiss her whenever he damn well wanted to!

Arnav brushed off Khushi's attempts at conversation when she walked him to the door muttering a terse 'I'll be home late again' before he left leaving a displeased Khushi in his wake.

Khushi muttered to herself all morning getting her strange looks from all the family members. Who was he to ignore her? He couldn't just say sorry? Then everything would be okay but no he had to make everything into a big battle and of course the mighty ASR could never lose a battle could he?

Arnav waited impatiently for his phone to ring, he'd regretted ignoring Khushi almost immediately and couldn't wait to talk to her again. He'd tried ringing her phone earlier but she hadn't answered. Probably left her phone in their room he told himself.

When the phone finally rang he smiled automatically as her picture flashed on his phone. 'Hello.'

'Have you eaten?'

'Huh? Khushi?'

'Have you eaten?'

'Yes, I've eaten, listen...'

'Taken your medicine?'

'Yes, listen Khushi I want to...'

'Okay bye.'

Arnav looked at the phone in his hand with his mouth wide open. Had she just put the phone down on him? Oh that was it. No more feeling guilty for not talking to her. If she wanted to talk to him, if she wanted to touch him, kiss him that was all on her. He wasn't going to try anymore.

Arnav's non-conversation with Khushi had put him in a bad mood all day and he'd made so many mistakes that by the time he reached home he was practically praying that Khushi would be asleep. He just didn't have the patience to deal with anybody right now and he really didn't want to get angry and say something to Khushi that he didn't mean and would just regret later on.

He sighed to himself mentally when he saw she was sitting up in bed flicking through the TV. He acknowledged her with a nod as he sat down to take his shoes off.

'Arnav! You're in my way,' Khushi stood up on the bed to look over Arnav's head at the TV.

Arnav closed his eyes and took a deep breath. Now she was just trying to be annoying he thought to himself as he stood up.

'Arnav! You're in my way again!'

Arnav clenched his teeth and walked towards the wardrobe, turning suddenly when he heard Khushi cry out and winced as he heard the thump her body made against the floor. He rushed over to her immediately, 'Khushi are you okay?' He lifted her up onto the bed only to have her push his shoulder and push him away.

'How could you let me fall Arnav?'

'What? Khushi, I didn't see...'

'You did this on purpose I know! First you ignore me this morning and now you just stand and watch me fall? Would it be that hard just to say sorry?'

'Khushi! I did NOT do this on purpose! Why would I want you to hurt yourself?'

'You know why! Arnav Singh Raizada never likes to lose!' Khushi rubbed the arm that she'd landed on as she moved across to her side of the bed.

Arnav clenched his teeth again at her stupidity. How could she think that he would let her fall and hurt herself just to avoid touching her. He slammed the door shut as he went into the bathroom needing time to calm himself down. By the time he came out Khushi had already fallen asleep and Arnav gently rubbed the bruise that was starting to form on her arm making sure not to mess up the pillows in between them. He didn't want to upset her any more than she already was.
