Chapter 6

Khushi felt she had to say something to break the silence, 'so...so what should I tell Nani and Anjaliji?'

Arnav turned around, 'say whatever you like. This is all because of you so it's up to you to get them off my back. Now go.' Arnav gestured towards the door with his head and watched as she started towards the door without turning her head and bumped into the handle. He sighed in exasperation and walked over to her.

'Usually Khushi, you have to open a door before you can go through it,' he said sarcastically as he opened the door for her. Khushi still wasn't moving, she was just looking at him in a bewildered fashion, Arnav put his hand gently on Khushi's shoulders and ushered her out of the door, before closing it again and locking it this time.

Khushi couldn't understand why her heart felt so much lighter all of a sudden. Arnav didn't want to get married, he didn't want her to find him a wife. Fine, that all suited her just fine. But Khushi couldn't help but think about Lavanya, recently Lavanya had turned into a friend and here Khushi was, almost feeling pleased that her friend's relationship had ended.

'No, no, I can't think about all that now. First I have to tell Nani and Anjali that he doesn't want to get married. Then I have to figure out where to find a new job from. I still need money and it's not like I can stay here and train Mami or something can I?' Khushi spoke to herself trying to figure out what she would say to Nani as she walked towards the living room.
