OS: Main Hoon Na

'Finally Jiji you're getting engaged! I'm so happy!' Khushi twirled Payal around in the guest room of the Raizada house.

'Khushi stop!' Payal sat down on the bed pulling Khushi next to her. 'It just feels so wrong to be so happy after everything that's happened Khushi. I mean, it's only been a few months since everything with Shyamji and I know Anjaliji is still upset about it.'

'Jiji, we can't put our whole lives on hold because of one horrible man can we? Besides, Anjaliji was the one that wanted this engagement to happen, she says she doesn't want to dwell on the past anymore, so we shouldn't either. Now tell me how do I look?'

Payal watched as Khushi stood up and twirled in front of her. She was wearing a royal blue lengha which hung low on her hips emphasising the strip of skin visible between her top and skirt. 'You look amazing Khushi. It looks like it should be your engagement, not mine.'

Khushi paused as she remembered her last ill-fated engagement before she shook her head to get rid of the awful memories in her head. 'Like you said Jiji, nobody's crazy enough to put up with me and my ridiculous ideas.'

Payal lifted her hand to fix a stray clip in Khushi's hair which she was wearing half up, half down in loose curls. 'Well, there's always Arnavji.'

Khushi turned around to face her sister in shock, 'Jiji?'

Payal tried to control her grin, 'what? I mean he does seem to be able to put up with your craziness more than the rest of us.'

'Jiji, stop talking. You're going to ruin your make up. I'll go check if Anjaliji's ready yet.' Khushi almost ran out of the room trying to avoid any more questions about Arnav.

'What's there to be nervous about? It's just an engagement, you put the ring on her finger and that's it. Jeez, if you're like this now what are you going to be like on the wedding Akash?'

Akash fussed with the sleeves on his shervani as Arnav tried to fix his hair which was refusing to stay in place. 'It's not just a ring, it's Payalji! Look how my hands are shaking Bhai. Besides it's not like I can get married since you refuse to.'

Arnav sighed as he moved back to look at Akash, 'and who exactly do you suggest I get married to? If you recall Lavanya broke up with me over 2 months ago.'

'You still haven't told us why though Bhai,' Akash said as he examined his hair in the mirror and adjusted a couple of strands.

Arnav paused briefly as he remembered that uncomfortable last conversation with Lavanya before she'd left to go to the UK.

'...Khushiji?'

Arnav looked up in shock at the sound of her name, had he been thinking out loud? 'What?! Khushi? Why would we break up because of Khushi? Who told you... I mean where did you...'

'Huh? Bhai I was just wondering if Di and Khushiji are ready yet.'

'Oh right. You mean if Payal is ready yet right?' Arnav breathed a sigh of relief as he picked his phone up off the bed, 'Akash stop touching your hair!' Arnav moved back the strands of Akash's hair that he'd touched, 'you look fine. Now leave it alone!'

'Fine? I just look fine? It's my engagement! I have to look more than fine!

Arnav only rolled his eyes as he walked out of Akash's room. He closed the door and turned around and his jaw fell open in shock.

Khushi was on her way to Anjali's room when she saw Arnav standing outside Akash's door looking at her unblinkingly with those intense eyes of his. She paused for a second, feeling herself melt under his gaze.

There was some noise behind her in the hallway and she felt herself come back to her senses. Arnav however was still staring at her unabashedly.

Arnav stared at the vision in front of him. She was beautiful, there was no other word for it. His gaze trailed from her face down to the enticing strip of skin calling out to him to touch it then back up to her big brown eyes calling out to him to drown in them.

Khushi walked slowly and purposefully towards Arnav stopping only an inch away. She lifted a hand to his chin lightly caressing his jaw before snapping his mouth shut. 'Munh toh bandh karo, Uncle!'

'Uncle?!' Arnav watched in disbelief as Khushi walked, no not walked, strutted away from him.

Khushi looked over her shoulder just before she went through Anjali's door to see Arnav still staring. Khushi bit her bottom lip causing Arnav's stomach to clench in desire

'Uncle?' Arnav exclaimed again as she winked at him before shutting the door behind her.
